Why We Built This Site
Louisiana gives the public broad access to many court and public records, but Orleans Parish is not organized like most parishes. The Clerk of Civil District Court handles civil cases, divorce files, successions, land records, mortgage records, conveyance records, and public-record requests for that office. The Clerk of Criminal District Court handles criminal case documents, dispositions, background checks, and expungement records. Municipal and Traffic Court handles traffic citations and municipal misdemeanor records. OPSO and LA VINE handle custody lookup, while LDH and the Secretary of State handle Orleans marriage records by record age.

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
